Staff: 90%

Samesun Vancouver Hostel had a very friendly group of people working the staff that besides being friendly were very knowledgeable of the area and not afraid to share a pint with you at the hostel's bar.

Location: 95%

Samesun Vancouver Hostel had a great location in Granville St which is full of bars, clubs, restaurants and shops meaning everything you'll need is within a short walk away.

How Clean is it?: 85%

Samesun Vancouver Hostel was a decently clean place considering how huge the backpackers was. The bathrooms were a bit rundown as were the beds in the rooms and furniture in the common rooms, but besides that the place was cleaned daily.

Any Character?: 98%

This is the shining point of Samesun Vancouver Hostel. Samesun Vancouver Hostel is filled to the brim with character. Everywhere you walk in the hostel there are signs, decorations, crazy colors all adding character making this one of the most colorful hostels I have ever stayed at.

How Fun was it?: 96%

Samesun Vancouver Hostel is an extremely fun place to stay at. They have nightly activities, a huge bar/restaurant, a rocking common room with free pool table and foosball, free Wi-Fi and an awesome vibe that makes meeting your fellow travelers quite easy.

Dorms, twins, doubles, free Wi-Fi, paid internet terminals, common rooms, outdoor patio, kitchen, free breakfast, bar, restaurant, tourist information, free maps, free towel hire, TV room, daily activities, phone cards for sale, shirts for sale, secure entry, free lockers, heaters, free luggage storage, free pool table, foosball, free maps, ATM machine, guidebooks to use, snack/drink machines, payphones, locks for sale, free soap and 24 hour hot water.

Value for your Money: 90%

Samesun Vancouver Hostel had good value considering how fun the place was, all the great activities they offered and the awesome location.

Bar:

Samesun Vancouver Hostel had a huge bar called "The Beaver" which had nightly drink specials and plenty of TVs.

Samesun Vancouver Hostel had paid internet terminals and free Wi-Fi if you had a laptop that was average in speed.

Food:

Samesun Vancouver Hostel had a free breakfast that consisted of toast with tea/coffee, or you could pay a small price for a larger breakfast. The attached bar named "The Beaver" also had nightly dinner specials at a good price as well as a full menu to order from.

The Extra Good:

Samesun Vancouver Hostel had a ridiculous amount of character. It was over the top and totally awesome. Samesun Vancouver Hostel is definitely a "hostel" amongst hostels.

The Extra Bad:

The beds in Samesun Vancouver Hostel were beyond squeaky and old. They were so loud I could hear people moving around in their beds in the next room.

Final Thoughts:

Samesun Vancouver Hostel is a great place to stay at to get an awesome hostel experience. It is loaded with character, has tons of things to do to keep you busy, the bar/restaurant is fantastic and the location can't be beat. Add the friendly staff and secure setup and you have yourself a winning combination.
