Staff: 87%

The Han Tang Inn staff were amazing. They made my stay at the hostel very enjoyable and they were also very informative. On top of that, they spoke great English so there was no problem communicating with them.

Location: 90%

A shining point for this hostel is its location. It is right on the edge of the Muslim quarter of the Old Town which is a very popular place for tourists and a good place to get some tasty food. On top of that, it is in a very busy district with many restaurants, stores and ATM's. It is also within walking distance to some of the city's main sights including the Drum Tower.

How Clean is it?: 75%

The cleanliness was probably one of the worst parts of this hostel. My bathroom looked pretty decrepit and the room itself wasn't the cleanest.

Any Character?: 75%

Inside the bar/restaurant, the hallways of the hostel as well as the reception, there was plenty of character. The room itself was completely devoid of character.

How Fun was it?: 80%

The Han Tang Inn was a decently fun place with a good bar/restaurant that had a free pool table as well as free internet/Wi-Fi. Also, they can book many tours for you making a stay in Xi'an productive and enjoyable.

Facilities: 80%

They had dorms, privates, doubles, twins, 24 hour reception, tour desk, bar/restaurant, free internet, free Wi-Fi, TV in room, fridge, A/C, towels, shower sandals, common room with TV/DVD player, many DVDs to watch, board games and book exchange.

Value for your Money: 80%

They did offer a lot at the hostel and the staff and location couldn't be beat, however the room wasn't very secure or nice so this place was of average value.

The Extra Good:

The location of the Han Tang Inn can't be beat. You are literally right next to one of the busiest tourist areas in the city being the old Muslim Quarter as well as the Drum Tower.

The Extra Bad:

The rooms weren't very secure and they even had a sign on the door saying to make sure it was always locked. The place was so big that I can see how people might be able to get away with stealing stuff there.

Final Thoughts:

The Han Tang Inn was an alright place. The staff and location were great, but the room left quite a bit to be desired. I would recommend it for a short stay in Xi'an if you are on a budget.

Would I Stay There Again?:

Yes, but after researching to see if I could find somewhere better.
