How Clean is it?: 75%

The Jaffa Gate Hostel was cleaned every day, but the bathrooms for the dorms were a bit dirty because they are very small and used by a large amount of people.

Any Character?: 75%

The Jaffa Gate Hostel didn't have too much character, just a little here and there.

How Fun was it?: 70%

The Jaffa Gate Hostel isn't really a place to have fun at. It has one common room with a TV but the hostel quiets down later on in the night.

Facilities: 80%

They had singles, doubles, twins, dorms, internet with one computer that wasn't free, FREE Wi-Fi, tour desk, kitchen, outside terrace, maps and a common room with TV.

The Extra Good:

The best part about this hostel is the location. You are in the Old City of Jerusalem, directly on its outskirts. Getting in to see the sites is a breeze from this location. You are also very close to some bus pick up and drop off points and taxi ranks.

The Extra Bad:

The Jaffa Gate Hostel tries to cram way too many people into the dorm rooms. I was in a five person area that should have only been for four.

Final Thoughts:

The Jaffa Gate Hostel is a good choice for those who want to visit Jerusalem on a budget. It is relatively clean, the staff is nice and the location is great. The big downer is how much they cram people into the rooms, but if that doesn't bother you, than staying here is a good idea.

Would I Stay There Again?:

Yes, if I was strapped for cash.
